Tuning and Servicing

Our sales team technicians who deal with some of the best brands in the world (including Fazioli, Shigeru Kawai and Steinway) are available on a limited basis for tuning, over and above for our existing customers.

If you’ve been referred to us or have a quality instrument that you’d like tuned and assessed to ensure that’s its kept I excellent condition, please contact us.

If we are unable to help you for any reason, we will refer you to our contracted technicians with whom we’ve had a very long relationship.

We offer highly specialised service work, at the level we do on new top-end recital and concert pianos such as Fazioli, Steinway and Shigeru Kawai. With 30 years of experience, we provide reliable information based on in depth technical and market knowledge, local and international.

Ian Burgess-Simpson Pianos has exceptional technical experience in rebuilding, restoration and the preparation and maintenance of concert pianos. Ian has completed Advanced Training at the Steinway factory, he is a Graduate of the Steinway Academy for Concert Technicians, has completed Advanced Training and Certification at Fazioli, has traned with Shigeru Kawai Master Piano Artisans and qualified with the Piano Technicians Guild of the USA. Ian has the highest level of qualifications and skills in South Africa. Having personally restored over 100 grand pianos, mostly Steinways, including more than 20 Steinway Model D concert instruments in use around the country, his experience is exceptional by international standards and establishes a unique benchmark in South Africa, and is applied to everything we do.
